Eindhoven University

“Substantial utilisation improvements and more cross-faculty use of meeting rooms, workspaces and study places.”

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is a research-driven, design-oriented university in the Netherlands specialising in engineering science and technology, offering 36 study programmes for 10,100 students.

The University’s Real Estate Department is responsible for managing all real estate, infrastructure, space and maintenance at the central campus location in Eindhoven. With the number of students expected to grow by 40% between 2015 and 2020, the TU/e created a ‘Campus 2020’ masterplan, to ensure the alignment of real estate with changing needs. A targeted space reduction programme from 207,000 m² in 2006 to 167,000 m² net floor area in 2020 is part of that strategy. The TU/e also has established a policy that up to 14% of the income may be spent on space and real estate.
